Some quick history: The first version of the mobile app came out October 2022. Back then, Replit was still a very developer focused tool. Our mobile app was one of the first to make real developer workflows extremely easy to do on a mobile device. Even today, technical folks are surprised at the fact that you can take shell actions right from your mobile device.

So why the redesign?

Well, how often do you read your code when you develop now? 😀

Similarly, we noticed an opportunity to significantly simplify the experience so users can focus on what matters: chatting with the agent, creating tasks, and previewing their app - all while still being able to do nearly all the complex workflows you can do from the web experience. (Don't worry, you can still access all your tools 😉)
